Pragat Shikshan Sanstha

Kamala Nimbkar Balbhavan (KNB) is a full time Marathi medium school with classes from pre-primary to SSC. It is named after Kamalabai Nimbkar, the first occupational therapist in India and the mother of Shri BonBehari Nimbkar, supporter of PSS. 

Apli Shala is the oldest component of Pragat Shikshan Sanstha. It began as a literacy class in front of a hut in the hutments of Mangalwar Peth, one of the most socially underprivileged sections of Phaltan. 

From the beginning we had determined that Pragat Shikshan Sanstha should not be merely an oasis in an educational desert but must be a resource center reaching out to other schools in the community and beyond. 

The critical importance of early years is now widely recognised. Experiences during this period may promote or impede several aspects of children’s development and learning. The early childhood education programme PSS balwadis have a holistic to early years education. 

The language programmes of Pragat Shikshan Sanstha are a group of varied and original programmes addressing different needs. They include Pragat Vachan Paddhati, Everyday English Programme and development of Marathi material for adult learners.
