We greatly value the work of the volunteers and the inter-cultural exchange and understanding they bring. PSS has a lot of extra-curricular activities going on, for which volunteers with special skills and more time might be able to get involved. We have mostly had the volunteers from UK and USA who have worked with elder children (age 14-15 years) on their English skills.
We are able to provide free lodging and boarding facility for our volunteers. Volunteers can stay at our guest house which is situated in our school premises. The meals are vegetarian. You are welcome at any time of year except diwali (October-November) and summer vacations (April-May).
Here are some experiences of a few volunteer who worked with us for several months. Also see what our students have to say about these volunteers.

Erina McGuire
The class 8 students with whom Erina spent a couple of months in 2009 absolutely enjoyed her company. Along with learning English they also celebrated her birthday and took her to the one-day trip with them. She worked with them on a play by Rudyard Kipling ‘The cat who walked by himself’. She also took some English conversation and writing classes for teachers.
Students wrote about the time spent with her, drew pictures and gifted them to her in the in a form of a book.
Christine Inghram
Christine Inghram visited KNB in 2000. She spent some time with class 9 students, talked a lot with them and taught them some beautiful songs. A couple of students from the class were in contact with her for a long time through letters. One of our current teachers, Madhura Maner who was in class 9 at that time wrote an article about Christine in the school magazine.
