Learning centers are thoughtfully planned activity areas, where children can work independently at their own pace to make new discoveries or consolidate their newly acquired skills. Such centers offer children options by learning to choose, children learn to make decisions and solve problems. As children can choose what they want to do, their interest is sustained for longer periods of time resulting in deeper and more meaningful learning.
It is important that these centers are set up in such a way that children can work independently without much intervention from adults.
